Selection Process

Selection will be made through Recruitment by Selection as decided by UPSC for each post:

  1. Application Scrutiny & Shortlisting – Based on essential and desirable qualifications, higher educational qualifications, and relevant experience.
  2. Recruitment Test (RT) – If applications are large in number, a Recruitment Test may be conducted.
  3. Personality Test / Interview – Minimum qualifying marks: UR – 50, OBC – 45, SC/ST/PwBD – 40 (out of 100).
  4. Medical Examination – Candidates must be in sound bodily health.
  5. Final Appointment – By the respective Ministry/Department.

How to Apply Online – Step by Step

Candidates must apply online ONLY through https://upsconline.nic.in/ora/.

  1. Visit the official portal upsconline.nic.in/ora.
  2. Complete Account Creation if you are a new user.
  3. Fill the Universal Registration (URN) form to generate your unique URN.
  4. Complete the Common Application Form (CAF) with personal & qualification details.
  5. Capture a live photograph through webcam (mandatory).
  6. Open the Vacancy-Specific Module for the desired post under Advt. 05/2026.
  7. Upload all required documents (photo, signature, certificates).
  8. Pay the application fee online (if applicable).
  9. Submit the application and take a printout for future reference.
